What Our World Needs Now

 Choose Your World....

Choose your world

When the going gets tough, smile. And know that you have what it takes to make it through.

When stress and tension and confusion surround you, relax. Select a specific challenge, deal with it, and then move calmly and confidently to the next.

If you're being pulled in every direction by forces beyond your control, take time to remember what you value most. Focus on what's important to you, and you'll naturally move toward it.

There will be times when it seems that your dreams are slipping away. Remind yourself once again why you follow those dreams, and you will bring them back to life.

Choose to live not in a world that's overwhelmed with problems. Choose instead to live in a world that is overflowing with positive possibilities.

On the surface, life can often seem tumultuous and incomprehensible. Yet deep inside, where it truly matters, life is the way you see it and becomes what you choose to make it.

-- Ralph Marston

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How true Ralph! Life is what we make it to be. If we focus on all the problems that can come at us we will start to feel overwhelmed and filled with stress and tension. But if we choose to look at those problems as opportunities to grow and reach beyond the issues that come to our doorstep, we start to see that life can have a natural peaceful flow.
Lord knows I am not perfect and I get caught up in problems that come my way too. Just last week was a perfect example. I lost my internet access and I started stressing and fretting about that. Before I knew it I was all bent out of shape and my body paid for it with my back ending up in pain from the tension. I could have prayed that I would not get angry and that I would have patience while waiting for the issue to be resolved. I could have chosen to meditate and center my body and know that whatever happened it would work out fine.
It did work out fine in the end and I am able to get back online. Things are sailing smooth once again. I had the opportunity to learn a lesson in patience and in taking care of my body and that there was no need to get so stressed out. I like what Ralph says...On the surface, life can often seem tumultuous and incomprehensible. Yet deep inside, where it truly matters, life is the way you see it and becomes what you choose to make it.
Life was what I made it. It was within my power to chose how my world was going to be for the day. Unfortunately I chose to make it stressful however I will have better knowledge the next time and make my choices on what would be the better option for me in the future.
Choose to live not in a world that's overwhelmed with problems. Choose instead to live in a world that is overflowing with positive possibilities.
Lesson learned.
 Loving Kindness Meditation
We turn today to a wonderful insight by Thich Nhat Hanh,
who teaches...
   When you are guided by compassion and loving
   kindness, you are able to look deeply into
   the heart of reality and see the truth.
Try this technique: While you're meditating, think of the
sorriest, most pathetic, appalling human being you've ever
seen. Visualize as many details of this person as you can.
When you're practically shuddering with disgust at the
mental image, stop.
Now, shift... and send toward this mental image every
iota of love and compassion in your body and soul.
If you're doing this technique correctly, a dramatic wave
of peace and bliss will wash through you. It may be intense
enough to give you goose bumps.
That's the power of compassion and loving kindness.
It works.
And it's available to you every second of your life. Every
second.
All you have to do is breathe in, stop, open the valve to
your limitless compassion and loving kindness and let it
wash through you. Then share it by breathing it out into
the world.
Pure joy and bliss.
It's that simple.
Until next time, meditate every day and wash the world
with loving compassion.
 Enlightened Perspective.....
ENLIGHTENED PERSPECTIVE
If you will take the time to read these. I promise you'll come away with an enlightened perspective.
The subjects covered affect us all on a daily basis:
They're written by Andy Rooney , a man who has the gift of saying so much with so few words.
Enjoy.......
I've learned.... That the best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.
I've learned.... That when you're in love, it shows.
I've learned.... That just one person saying to me, 'You've made my day!' makes my day.
I've learned.... That having a child fall asleep in your arms is one of the most peaceful feelings in the world.
I've learned.... That being kind is more important than being right.
I've learned. .... That you should never say no to a gift from a child.
I've learned.... That I can always pray for someone when I don't have the strength to help him in some other way.
I've learned.... That no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.
I've learned.... That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.
I've learned.... That simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when I was a child did wonders for me as an adult.
I've learned.... That life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer it gets to the end, the faster it goes.
I've learned.... That money doesn't buy class.
I've learned.... That it's those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular.
I've learned... That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.
I've learned.... That to ignore the facts does not change the facts.
I've learned.... That when you plan to get even with someone, you are only letting that person continue to hurt you.
I've learned.... That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.
I've learned.... That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.
I've learned.... That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them.
I've learned.... That opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.
I've learned.... That when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.
I've learned.... That I wish I could have told my Mom that I love her one more time before she passed away.
I've learned.... That one should keep his words both soft and tender, because tomorrow he may have to eat them.
I've learned.... That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.
I've learned.... That when your newly born grandchild holds your little finger in his little fist, that you're hooked for life.
I've learned.... That everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you're climbing it.
I've learned .... That the less time I have to work with, the more things I get done.
I've learned... That life is tough, but I'm tougher.
I've learned.... That love, not time, heals all wounds.
I've learned.... That we should be glad God doesn't give us everything we ask for.
What have you learned?
 Attitude...
ATTITUDE
There was a woman who woke up one morning,
looked in the mirror,
and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.
'Well,' she said, 'I think I'll braid my hair today.'
So she did and she had a wonderful day.
The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror
and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.
'H-M-M,' she said,
'I think I'll part my hair down the middle today.'
So she did and she had a grand day.
The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and noticed
that she had only one hair on her head.
'Well,' she said, 'today I'm going
to wear my hair in a pony tail.'
So she did, and she had a fun, fun day.
The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and noticed
that there wasn't a single hair on her head.
'YAY!' she exclaimed.
'I don't have to fix my hair today!'
Attitude is everything.
Be kinder than necessary,
for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
Live simply,
Love generously,
Care deeply,
Speak kindly.......
Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...
It's about learning to dance in the rain!!!
 Just Because....
Just because
Be joyful, just because you can. Spread genuine joy to others, just because it feels so grand.
Generously give of yourself just because it's your own special way to make a difference. Smile, just because it is so easy and pleasant to do.
Follow your dreams just because they call so vividly and persistently to you. Live your deepest purpose just because it feels so very right.
Always speak the truth just because you understand its far-reaching power. Act with integrity just because it keeps you on the path to true fulfillment.
Offer a kind word just because it can have such a positive impact. Lift up those around you just because you feel connected to all that is.
Life can be quite complex, but it doesn't have to be complicated. Live each moment richly and fully, just because you are.
-- Ralph Marston
